Better Search Results
Google Search is one of the best things about the Internet. It’s better to a dictionary. We have put together our favorite search tips on how to get better results on search engines.
Search for the whole phrase by using quotes “ “
Google tries to find a page that matches the words A and B in no particular order. Most of the time there are contents with the words A & B next to each other but instead of letting Google do the guesswork, we can instruct it to search and match in the order we enter our search terms by using quotes “ “. This is especially useful when searching for a phrase, quote, or lyrics.
Use exclusion with the hypen sign -
Sometimes our search results coincide with something entirely different from what we are looking for. For example, you are trying to find the animal Puma. The Google search results may display the animal and the shoe brand. To have Google ignore the results related to the famous shoe brand, use -apparel or -shoes.
Definition
This works like a dictionary. Type into the search any vocabulary you seek the definition for i.g. define asphyxiate.
Math
Google can do math - calculate a tip, percentage off a sale, or the square root of something. Try 29.99 minus 20 percent.
